The DFG Meri Day PNG Education and Awareness team has recently visited several schools and perticipated in presentations to students at the Iobuna or Laloki Primary school. They talked to 20 grade 6 girls and two other classes with an estimate of 60 girl students hearing the talk on the Health and Sanitation for girls and were introduced to DFG hygiene pads. The second photos (students in green shirts) are from the Laloki Secondary School. The team was invited with other NGOs such as Child fund, Safehouse, Marie Stoppes. The Awareness visit based on Gender violence . We complemented with the concept of Gender inclusions in Education creating the level playing field , addressing and linking to Girls Health and Sanitation issues.
The team returned the next day to meet with the Boarding girls.The third photo shows the meeting under the tree. The students are receptive and response is good in their interest to use the hygiene kits .
