HOLY CROSS – LENTEN STUDIES 2019
While Lent and Easter have passed individuals may be interested in reading these studies in their own time so we will leave them available here.
Lent is a time in our church calendar of prayer and preparation to celebrate Jesus’ journey to the cross, bringing life and freedom to us all.
This year during Lent we will be reflecting on the theme of ‘Journeys’. We will be sharing and learning from each other to equip us to travel the paths that have been set out for us as Christ’s servants.
In our Lenten studies, we will learn the stories of several Christians throughout history:
• Week 1 – Ruth
• Week 2 – St Paul
• Week 3 – St Augustine of Hippo
• Week 4 – Dr Bruno Muetzelfeldt
• Week 5 – Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber
The study guide for all 5 studies may be downloaded for use in each of the study sessions or your own individual study using this link. Lenten Studies 2019
Our weekly worship services during Lent will also reflect the theme of ‘Journeys’. We will be inviting members of the congregation to share their stories of how they came to Holy Cross, how they came to the Christian faith, or other journeys in their life that they have experienced.
Please join us in our worship and study groups as we draw together as a diverse community, learn from each other’s experiences, and are reminded that we need never travel alone with Jesus beside us to show us the way.
